Maria Curie Skłodowska University is the largest university in Eastern Poland and its position has been developed over 70 years of teaching tradition. From the beginning it has been described as a market leader in the education sector providing students only with first-class education. Over 210 thousand students graduated from UMCS, about 4 thousand degrees of Doctor were conferred, and over 900 individuals acquired habilitation qualifications. Currently over 22 thousand students attend over 50 programmes (including over 200 specialisations) delivered in 12 faculties.
Wystawa „Messages from Thailand II – Wiadomości z Tajlandii II”
The department of Graphic Arts, the Faculty of Fine Arts, Chiang Mai University, presents print work in Messages from Thailand exhibition in Lublin, Poland. Through cooperation between the UMCS Institute in Poland and the branch of graphic arts, Faculty of Fine Arts Chiang Mai University. The opening ceremony was held on 17 October 2019.

Messages from Thailand FOTORELACJA
16 października w Galerii Wydziału Artystycznego na ulicy Zana 11 odbył się wernisaż wystawy „Messages from Thailand”. Swoje grafiki zaprezentował profesor Pongdej Chaiyakut.
Messages from Thailand FOTORELACJA
Dziekan Wydziału Sztuk Pięknych Uniwersytetu w Chiang Mai urodził się w Bankoku. Tam też ukończył Silpakorn University. Przez dwa lata studiował również na Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Krakowie.
W naszej Galerii artysta zaprezentował odbitki wykonane w technice suchej igły. Znajdują się wśród nich zarówno dzieła dość minimalistyczne, jak i kompozycje pełne symboliki. Najczęściej zauważyć można przedstawienia człowieka – w tym autoportret – oraz motywy animalistyczne. Prace profesora są przykładem sztuki zaangażowanej społecznie, traktują bowiem o istotnych dla artysty problemach, które zauważa w swoim kraju.
Na wernisażu panowała serdeczna atmosfera, która sprzyjała nie tylko rozmowom na temat treści prac, ale również wymianą doświadczeń dotyczących technologii grafiki.

A group of artists from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Chiang Mai University in Bangkok presented paintings, sculptures and traditional prints. The event was graced by the presence of a representative of the Royal Thai embassy. There were also citizens of this country permanently residing in Lublin.
In the Gallery we may find art strongly embedded in the Orient, which is most apparent in the case of painting. Graphics neatly fits into world trends, while sculpture catches the eye with an intriguing combination of materials such as ceramics, glass and metal.
We would love to thank our guests for coming from such a distant country to share their art with us.
Artists from the Institute of Fine Arts in Lublin will have the opportunity to return the visit at the exhibition in Thailand, which is planned for the upcoming winter.
